Campfire Beef Stew
Ingredients:
• 2 lbs stewing beef, cut into chunks
• 2 tbsp oil or beef tallow
• 1 large onion, chopped
• 3 cloves garlic, minced
• 3–4 carrots, sliced
• 3 potatoes, cubed
• 2 celery stalks, chopped
• 1 can diced tomatoes (optional)
• 3 cups beef broth
• 1 tbsp Worcestershire
• 1 tsp smoked paprika
• 1 tsp black pepper
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 bay leaf
• Optional: parsley, splash of red wine, chili flakes
Instructions:
1. Heat a cast‑iron pot over steady campfire coals.
2. Add oil and brown the beef on all sides.
3. Add onions and garlic; cook until fragrant.
4. Add carrots, potatoes, celery, and tomatoes.
5. Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire; scrape the bottom of the pot.
6. Season with smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and bay leaf.
7. Simmer 1.5–2 hours

Instructions
1. Build the fire

Rest 5 minutes. Slice against the grain.
